This print from acrylic is about six tribes coming together for a ceremony in the sandunes during a full moon. It includes the grains of sand that still hold the essence of the songlines, traditions, movement, and culture within them.
Sherry Johnstone is a passionate and proud descendant of the Keerray Woorroong Aboriginal people within the Maar Nation (better known as Gunditjmara) in South West Victoria. Her art blends traditional knowledge and symbolism with the new. Infusing cultural connection, story and perspective in a contemporary style.
Along with commissioned and original art, community projects, Sherry has also produced an Aboriginal Early Years Activity resource that is being utilised throughout Victoria within early years services.
